Kenyan capital Nairobi has been listed in the top 50 friendliest cities in the world 2019 list compiled by Big 7 Travel.
The website asked their social audience of 1.5 million people they you would find the friendliest city in the world and asked them to consider aspects from how easy the city is to navigate or strangers helping you find your way when that pesky roaming data doesn’t work to making new best friends in a local bar.
Among the cities across the globe where you’ll be made to feel the most welcome which made the list include capital cities London and Dublin along with Cork, Manchester and Glasgow.
Nairobi was listed as 21st on the list and described as “one of the best cities to live in for expats.” It goes on to say “Nairobi has a cosmopolitan vibe with a large community of locals and expat residents who make the city welcoming for all,” and names Kenyans as “generally some of the friendliest people in the world”.
The highest ranked city in the British Isles was Dublin at number 6. The peope of Dublin are described as “good-natured, with a good sense of humour.”
Consistently voted one of the friendliest cities in the world, Glasgow was ranked in 10th place due in part to its “warm and welcoming community”.
17 While Cork is the second Irish city making the list at number 17 while Manchester is the highest ranked English city at number 32.
London squeezes in at number 40 due to the locals being polite despite seeming to be “stand-offish on first impressions”.
