Staff Sergeant Humphreys from the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK) has raised an amazing Ksh 80,000 by completing a 24 hour static cycle fundraising challenge.

The money generated will go towards an orphanage in Nyahururu which cares for children with HIV. SSgt Humphreys was inspired to help the children after being impressed by their positive attitude and enlisted the support of the owners of the Paneri Hotel who have matched the money raised from the challenge.

The funds raised will support the children’s education, clothing and development needs.

BATUK described the fundraiser as “a remarkable effort for a wonderful cause.”
