UK based Ernst & Young appoints Kenyan as first female East Africa cluster lead

EY, part of UK based Tax, and advisory services firm Ernst & Young Global Limited, has appointed Nancy Muhoya Nganga as managing partner of its Kenyan practice and leader of the East Africa cluster which comprises Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania.

Marking the first time a woman has held the roles, she succeeds retiring Gitahi Gachahi who has managed the firm since 2010.

A Kenyan certified public accountant, Ms Muhoya has been with the company for 16 years. During this time she has held a number of senior positions, including her most recent role leading assurance services in EY East Africa. In 2016, she was picked as one of Business Daily’s Top 40 Under 40 Women.

She has also been credited by the firm for the performance and growth of the company’s audit business while serving as a partner and leader of assurance services in EY East Africa.
