Yesterday, outgoing UK High Commissioner Nic Hailey was joined by Department for International Development Country Head Julius Court and Governor Mohammed Kuti to launch the Sustainable Urban Economic Development Programme (SUED) in Isiolo.
Isiolo is one of ten municipalities selected to benefit from the programme, following a nationwide competition.
Through the programme, Isiolo will receive UK support to deliver urban growth and attract investment.
Speaking at the launch, SUED’s Duncan Onyango said “We will work with Isiolo to actualise economic development in the municipality”.
Governor Kuti said the county “will work with SUED to make Isiolo a people friendly and climate resilient municipality.”
“Our county is committed to working with with the Department for International Development through SUED to involve our youth in development. We want to empower them to become leaders in sustainable urban development,” he added.
