Fionnuala Quinlan learns about the impact Irish Aid funded Trócaire is having in Kenya

Yesterday, Trócaire showed Irish Ambassador Fionnuala Quinlan the important work they are involved with in fighting TB and AIDS as well as improving maternal and infant health at the Medical Missionaries of Mary clinic in Mukuru kwa Njenga slum in Nairobi.

The charity receive support from Irish Aid, UKaid and the European Union.

Following the visit, the Irish Embassy said “It was inspiring to hear the aspirations of these young women from Downstream High School in Mukuru Slums Nairobi, whose return to school was supported by Irish Aid and Trócaire.”

The young Kenyans shared with Ambassador Quinlan their aspirations to be engineers, doctors, nurses, teachers and journalists.
