Last Tuesday (9 July), the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK) Golf Society (BGS) said farewell to their remaining Training Development and Support Unit (TDS) members.

BGS captain, Staff Sergeant Humphreys, and golfing Officer, Major Paul Colville, wished the departing TDS all the very best for the future and said he hoped they would continue their golfing careers on returning to their units.

On their Facebook page, BATUK said: “It has been a pleasure to see the TDS transitions; from initially learning on the designated training skills day, to those individuals going on to win the monthly Stableford competition (Jim Frame – RMP). SSgt Humphreys looks forward to welcoming all new TDS, arriving in BATUK that wishes to join the BGS.”

Future dates for the BGS diary include a golf tour of 5 courses in Nairobi (21 -26 July 19), BGS monthly shield competitions held on the last Wednesday of the month and competitions held at Nanyuki Sports Club (NSC).

Golf training also takes place at NSC every Wednesday (1300 – 1700hrs) and Sunday (0900 – 1400hrs).
