On the 13 June 2019 Support For Little Feet, aided by the Community Engagement Team from the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK) and soldiers from the Communication Information Systems (CIS) Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant (SQMS) department, visited Il Polei Primary School in the Dol Dol area.
For organisers Lindsey and Amy, this visit marked a milestone for the Supporting Little Feet initiative with the 300 pairs of shoes given out in the first year of operation taking the total to 1,000 pairs of shoes donated to children in various Kenyan schools.
During this visit, the ladies, aided by their helpers, gave out shoes, a football strip donated by the Community Engagement Team and 6 footballs.
According to BATUK, “The Children and school were over the moon with the donations and the day progressed well with the soldiers rotating through helping measure and give out shoes as well as playing football with kids, building relations ensuring they will have a lasting impression of both BATUK and the Little Feet organisation.
“Lindsey and Amy would just like to thank everyone, both from BATUK and the UK, who have donated shoes in order to make this possible. Without your support we would never be able to help these children. Thank you all and here’s to the next 1000.”
