A British student who is planning to visit Kenya with classmates has boosted his fundraising total by raffling off a four foot giraffe to help fund his trip.

Alfie Bagnall and four fellow pupils from Bridgnorth Endowed School will set off for a month-long stay in Kenya next summer where they will work on charity work and personal development.

Alfie, who is on the autistic spectrum, will be 15 when the Camps International expedition leaves in July 2020, but before he boards the airplane he needs to raise more than £4,000 for which he has enlisted the help of his mother Becky.

This week’s raffle for the toy giraffe at the Alley Katz toy store in Bridgnorth, where Becky works, raised £297 which will go towards Alfie’s fund.

While in Africa Alfie will learn Swahili, plant trees and build fences to help keep elephants off the crops and a take part in a 5 day trek up Mount Kenya.
