On Friday, Deputy UK High Commissioner Susie Kitchens met with the newly appointed Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Inger Andersen.
Following her nomination by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, the General Assembly elected the Dane to a four-year term as in the post in February.
Prior to this role, she has held various leadership positions at the World Bank and United Nations, most recently as Vice President of the Middle East and North Africa Region at the World Bank (2011-2015) and Vice President for Sustainable Development and Head of the Consultative Group of International Agricultural Research Fund Council (2010-2011).
During the meeting. Ms Andersen congratulated the UK for its strong voice on environmental issues at all levels and said she was looking forward to strengthening their partnership.
