Julius Court meets World Bank representatives

On Wednesday (3 July), Department for International Development Kenya Head Julius Court met with World Bank Country Director for Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda Carlos Felipe Jaramillo and Hafez Ghanem, World Bank Africa Vice President.

They discussed topics including agriculture, digital, debt and the UK-Africa Investment Summit which British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt announced will take place next January.

UK-Africa trade was worth over £33bn in 2018 and around 2,000 British businesses currently operate in Africa. At the time of the announcement, UK Minister for Investment, Graham Stuart, explained that the summit “will bring together UK and African governments, alongside major international investors, to grow awareness of investment opportunities on the continent.”
