On Friday, 13 Kenyan County Commanders graduated from the Strategy Leadership Programme funded by the UK Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF).

The Programme, the first of its kind in Kenya, has been developed by the National Police Service (NPS) in partnership with Kenyatta University and the UK’s Bramshill College of Policing has so far trained 134 officers since it was launched in 2015 with the aim of supporting a strong and accountable police service in the country.

It combines strategic policing skills training with a diploma and Masters degree in Leadership and Security Management. Candidates also undergo strategic leadership training, based on the UK’s International Strategic Leadership Programme (ISLP), which delivers contemporary concepts of best practice in policing form around the world.
