Last Sunday (26 May), BATUK FC hosted Baraka FC at Nanuyki Sports Club.
Before kick-off, Corporal Hugo from Mechanical Transport donated a strip which was worn by Baraka FC who are one of the biggest community football organisations in Nanyuki, with eight teams of various age groups.
The team from the British Army Training Unit Kenya began the game strongly, maintaining possession and creating numerous chances.
Their dominance was rewarded just after the half-hour mark with Sergeant Valentine netting, closely followed by a second from Staff Sergeant Butlin, giving BATUK a 2-0 lead at the break.
BATUK FC began the second half as they finished the first, going straight on the attack with Staff Sergeant Ngoma scoring the British Army team’s third.
A fourth quickly followed from Lance Corporal Halmshaw before two late goals from Staff Sergeant Butlin completed his hat-trick and the team’s 6-0 rout.
