Yesterday, President Uhuru Kenyatta met with the Commonwealth Secretary General, Patricia Scotland, who paid him a courtesy call at State House in Nairobi.
The Kenyan President assured the Commonwealth Secretary General that Kenya is willing and ready to integrate the various instruments developed by the multilateral agency in the country’s development programmes.
Dubbed ‘toolkits’, the Commonwealth development instruments cover a wide range of areas and are aimed at helping member State Governments to deliver on their mandates more effectively.
The pair discussed the ‘Build Back Better Housing Toolkit’ which seeks to promote the construction of affordable, environmentally friendly houses.
President Kenyatta assured Baroness Scotland that his country had no reservations in adopting the instruments as long as they prove to be beneficial to Kenyans.
