BATUK staff donate specially made school desks to Samburu children

On 14 May, 6 staff members from the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK) Warrant Officers and Sergeants’ Mess travelled to Archer’s Post to engage with the children at PEFA Primary School.

Led by Q Dewar, the school is one of many projects the mess members have been have been involved in over the last few months and on this visit, the team donated 20 desks which had been specially made for the school by BATUK’s Community Engagement Team.

Q Dewar said: “this has been a great opportunity to engage with the local community and seeing the smiles on the children’s faces is hugely rewarding”.

Thrilled to receive the new desks, the school’s headteacher Ruth said: “We’re extremely grateful for the desks and they will literally help to provide the foundation for the children’s education”.
