BATUK FC left their Nyati Barracks on Friday and set off for Nairobi to begin their tour of the Kenyan capital.
The first fixture saw the team from the British Army Training Unit Kenya line up against Kahawa Garrison FC, a level 4 professional team.
BATUK FC started the game strongly, putting pressure on Kahawa which produced several goal scoring opportunities which were kept out by the home team’s keeper and the bar.
As the first half came to a close, Kahawa had two chances, scoring one which put them ahead at the break.
A tight second half produced no goals despite increased pressure from BATUK FC.
Towards the end of the game as BATUK pushed forward to find an equaliser, the excellent form of the home team’s man between the posts maintained his team’s one-goal lead.
The game finished 1-0 to Kahawa.
