Lisa Doherty presents certificates to Kenyan students who have benefitted from Irish scholarships

Yesterday, Irish Chargé d’Affaires Lisa Doherty tpresented certificates to 2017 Mwangi Scholarship awardee Ms Elizabeth Mwangi and 2017 Irish Aid Fellowship Scholarship awardee Mr Moses Somba.

The two studied at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and Waterford Institute of Technology respectively.

The Mwangi MBA Scholarship is run in conjunction with the Irish Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade is open only to female citizens of Kenya.

The Scholarship includes full tuition fees for the full-time MBA at UCD Smurfit School to the value of €34,500 and a €20,500 stipend.

Irish Aid provides funding for a number of scholarships for full-time study at Masters level as part of Ireland’s wider development cooperation budget. The focus of awards is on supporting mid-career professionals on courses that are relevant to our development objectives in specific partner countries.
