Susie Kitchens joins Royal Academy of Engineering and Kenyan partners for meeting in Nairobi

British Deputy High Commissioner Susie Kitchens joined the Royal Academy of Engineering Higher Education Partnerships team, along with the Technical University of Kenya and Moi University, for a project partners meeting in Nairobi this week.

Working with Kenya, the British government is supporting cutting-edge research into local and global challenges with the Royal Academy of Engineering one of the delivery partners for the UK’s Global Grand Challenges Research Fund. This is a funding stream that supports cutting-edge research on global issues affecting developing countries and is part of the UK’s Government’s Official Development Assistance (ODA).

Since 2013, their Higher Education Partnerships in sub-Saharan Africa programme has supported over 160 academics to undertake secondments in industry and over 100 industry representatives to undertake secondments, guest lectures and mentoring in universities.
