Sir Mo Farah joins Queen’s birthday celebrations at British Embassy in Ethiopia

British-Somali runner Sir Mo Farah took time out from training for the London Marathon on Tuesday night to join the British Embassy in Ethiopia’s birthday party celebrations for the Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

UK Ambassador to Ethiopia Alastair McPhail said it “was great that Sir Mo Farah took time from training for the London Marathon to come to our Queen’s Birthday Party.” He also thanked the runner for attending and wished him good luck for next week’s race.

Entertainment on the night was provided by Ethiopia’s Hasset Acoustics Band.

The Queen, who will turn 93 on Easter Sunday (21 April), has two birthdays with her actual and official birthdays celebrated on the 21 April and the second Saturday in June (usually) respectively.
