Aylesbury Lions Club have organised a took collection next month in support of Workaid.
As a charity dedicated to helping people help themselves, Chesham based Workaid tackles poverty mainly in East Africa and the UK. They collect, refurbish and then supply tools and equipment to self-help groups and vocational training projects.
Workaid’s first ever container went to Kenya in 1994 and the charity now send 8 containers a year to East Africa containing 80 tonnes of equipment supporting over 180 projects.
To assist with this tool collection, on Saturday May 25, the Aylesbury Lions will be at the community stall at Aylesbury Market between 10am and 4pm before transporting the donations to the Workaid’s nearest base in Chesham.
