11 members of the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK) Golf Society took part in a closely fought Shield competition at Thika Greens Golf Resort last Wednesday (6 March).
As in previous competitions, the event was well run and enjoyed by those who took part.
Among the award winners on the day were Sergeant Chris Wilson who won the new Stroke Play Shield with a net score of 69.
Staff Sergeant Lee Cooper won the Stableford Shield with a score of 38 points with Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2) Scott Wallace winning longest drive, after hitting consistently strong drives all day.
The next BATUK Shield competition will see the introduction of a Ladies competition.
BATUK’s Golf Society say they welcome and encourage all serving personnel and their spouses to come along and enjoy both the sport and a great social experience.
