UK Ambassador to Ethiopia expresses condolences to those affected by ET 302 crash

The British Ambassador to Ethiopia, Alastair McPhail has posted an update following this morning’s Ethiopian Airlines crash and expressed his condolences to all those affected by the tragedy.

“My team and I have been working hard in response to this morning’s tragic crash and are in close contact with the Ethiopian authorities,” he said in a video posted to Twitter.

Ethiopian Airlines have confirmed that there were seven British nationals among the dead and my consular staff are working hard to establish the details.

“My condolences go out to the families and friends of those involved.

“If you’re worried about a loved one, please follow our social media channels for further updates and telephone numbers which you can call,” he added.

36 year old Joanna Toole was the first British casualty to be named and the Irish national killed in the crash has been identified as Michael Ryan.
