A property manager from Suffolk has successfully completed a gruelling 500km cycle challenge in Kenya across rugged terrain and temperatures which at times hit 41°C.

Chairman of the Suffolk branch of the Country Land and Business Association (CLA), Ben Crossman, was among 75 riders from around the world taking part in the Ride Africa organised fundraiser from Nairobi to Meru to raise money for Child.org.

The international development charity is dedicated to ensuring every child has an opportunity to survive and prosper from birth to adulthood and during the ride, the cyclists visited some of the projects that it supports.

“We heard harrowing stories of women that had been victims of some horrific crimes and how the charity was helping them to rebuild their lives,” he said.

So far, Ben has raised £5.75k and if you would like to support this fundraising exercise, you can do so via his Child.org page.
