Commander Collective Training Group (CTG), Brigadier Barry OBE, has passed on his thanks to the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK) team during his visit to Kenya last week.
During this visit, Brigadier Barry has met officers, soldiers, locally employed civilians and dependants whose combined efforts help train over 10,000 British troops annually.
He also took the opportunity to see Exercise Askari Storm in action during which he met with the 1 Lancs Battle Group and the Lolldaiga training area team.
At the conclusion of his trip, the Brigadier spent some time at the Community Welfare Facility at Nyati Barracks where he met the spouses of BATUK personnel.
Commenting on his visit, Brigadier Barry said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to meet the BATUK team again, it has been fantastic to see the superb quality of the exercises that are delivered here, which would not be possible without your spirit and combined effort. Many thanks to all of you and keep up the good work.”
