Following promises made during last year’s Global Disability Summit, Nic Hailey welcomed disabled High Commission intern Sarah for a day-long placement as co-Balozi yesterday.

Their day started with a meeting to discuss the UK-Kenya Science and Research Board which is co-chaired by Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed.

Discussions at this second board meeting focused on the upcoming UK-Kenya Joint Affordable Housing Symposium on May 21-22 which will explore the potential for new innovative collaborations between the two countries.

Later, Sarah hosted a lunch at the High Commissioner’s residence in Nairobi.

The Balozi for the day signed off with a Tweet saying she had enjoyed the experience, with Mr Hailey replying with “Great job Balozi”.

The Gifted Community Centre said they were ‘super proud’ of Sarah’s spirit and thanked Mr Hailey for providing her with the opportunity.
