British and Japanese military running vehicle boarding and search course for Kenyan coastguard

The British Army’s Brigadier Mark Thornhill and Commander Masaki Nakagome from Japan have been lending their expertise to the Vehicle Boarding and Search Course (VBSS) for the Kenya Coast Guard.

Led by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Royal Marines and Royal Navy, the course is utilising craft funded by the Japanese government and support from UK Ministry of Defence personnel.
