Staff Sergeant (Foreman of Signals) Durbridge from the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK) along with his family visited the Sunderland AFC Keroche team in Karai, Naivasha last month.

As team sponsors they were given the honour of presenting the Player of the Season award and meet the Club President and Vice President who had flown in from the UK .

While the first team receives UK funding, the Academy recruits from the Karai School. The team is also sponsored by a number of British companies including Hays Travel.

Thanks to a deal agreed by the Club President, the School will now receive electricity. They plan to visit again in the future with the aim of providing football equipment to the Academy. Any donations are welcome.
