Helensburgh Christmas Tree festival generates over £1k for Kenyan charity

A Christmas Tree Festival at the United Reformed Church in Helensburgh last December has raised £1,100 for the Osiligi Charity Projects, a UK charity working primarily in the Maasai areas of Kenya, helping families out of poverty through education, health and local clean water and by assisting people to become more economically active.

Visitors to the church during December was treated to a display of 40 stunning trees which had been sponsored and decorated by a variety of local community groups, youth groups and charities. 

In total, the event raised £2,200 with an equal share going to the Kenyan charity and the local branch of Enable.
