Last night, Nic Hailey, hosted a performance by Ghetto Classics, at the British High Commission in Nairobi.
Ghetto Classics is the flagship programme of the Art of Music Foundation which is a community programme that involves over 300 children in Korogocho, one of Kenya’s biggest slums.
Commenting after the performance, Mr Hailey thanked Ghetto Classics for an “amazing concert”.
“Music brings us together and you guys are an inspiration,” he added.

Finnish Ambassador Erik Lundberg, who was among the guests, described the performance as a “magic experience”. He thanked the British High Commissioner for inviting him, adding: “Music is a combination of joy, passion, skill and discipline – you could really feel that in the air tonight.”
Catherine Collin, Head of Regional Representation East Africa at the European Investment Bank, also thanked Mr Hailey for a “wonderful evening”.
