Nic Hailey discusses development partnership with Garissa Governor and Senator

Yesterday, Garissa Governor Ali Bunow Korane and Senator Mohamed Yusuf Haji paid a courtesy call on British High Commission to Kenya, Nic Hailey, at his Nairobi residence to discuss the development partnership in Garissa County.

Mr Korane is the 2nd Governor of Garissa County, having been elected to office in August 2017. He has held a number of Permanent Secretary positions in the Kenyan government and before becoming Garissa Governor, he was Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa with a mission to coordinate peace in the region.

Senator Haji was Kenyan Defence Minister from 2008 to 2013, briefly served as its acting Minister of Internal Security and Provincial Affairs in 2012. He has served in the Senate of Kenya since 2013.

Commenting afer the meeting, Mr Hailey said it was “great to catch up with Governor Korane and Haji”. He added that Garissa is a key county for UKaid partnership.
