An American survivor of 9/11 was among the victims of an Islamist attack at the DusitD2 hotel in Nairobi on Tuesday.
40-year-old businessman Jason Spindler, was killed along with 13 others when four attackers stormed the luxury hotel with grenades, guns and a bomb.
Spindler was the CEO of I-DEV International, a management strategy and investment firm that is based in the Kenyan capital.
His death was confirmed by his brother Jonathan on Tuesday, saying: “It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that my brother, Jason, passed away this morning during a terror attack in Nairobi.
“Jason was a survivor of 9/11 and a fighter. I am sure he gave them hell,” he added.
British father-of-one Luke Potter and an American woman who is yet to be named were also among victims. Another Briton is believed to have been injured during the incident.
