Staff from the British High Commission, including High Commissioner Nic Hailey and his deputy Susie Kitchens, were joined by Gilgil’s Restart Choir for a Christmas Carol concert last week.
The event took place in the gardens of the High Commission and after the performance, Mr Hailey handed out Christmas stockings to the Restart children who had been performing.
Originally known as The Sanata Charitable Trust, Restart is a registered charity and consists of two Trusts, one based in the United Kingdom, and the other in Gilgil, Kenya. The purpose of the UK Trust is to generate funds for the development and ongoing costs of the Restart Children’s Centre.
Restart looks after 110 children, aged from a just few months old, in an orphanage opened in 2014 which provided food, shelter, welfare and education.
