Base Resources granted Vanga prospecting licence to extend Kenya operation

London Stock Exchange register Australian company Base Resources Limited have been granted a prospecting licence for the Vanga area in Kenya.

The mineral sands producer said the three-year Vanga license covers an area of 136 square kilometres, extending south-west from the Kwale Operation towards the Tanzanian border.

According to the company, the license was applied for after an airborne geophysical and radiometric survey identified a series of promising exploration targets.

Tim Carstens, managing director of Base Resources said: “In the context of the current pursuit of mine life extension at Kwale Operations, the granting of the Vanga PL is a positive and important step.

 “Preparatory activities, ahead of a planned drilling program in 2019, are underway,” he added.
