On Saturday, Irish expats living and working in Kenya joined together to celebrate the forthcoming festive period at the annual Kenya Irish Society Christmas Party at the Muthaiga Club.
Posting to their Facebook page, the Irish Embassy said it was “wonderful to celebrate” with and meet Irish citizens of all ages, both newly arrived and long standing residents.
“Great to witness a deepening of Ireland’s presence and influence in Kenya,” the Embassy added.
Founded as the East African Irish Society in 1924, the society describes itself as “an active and inclusive society for all Irish folk and their friends in Kenya to embrace, enjoy and promote Irish interests and culture.”
The society holds a number of events in Kenya, often in collaboration with the Irish Embassy, which have proved to be a great way to network and unwind.
