Holiday specialist Travelbag have reported that following the latest episode in Sir David Attenborough’s latest BBC series, Dynasties, there was an increase in holiday searches for Kenya.
The programme, which is currently being broadcast in the UK on Sunday evenings, follows true stories of five of the world’s most celebrated, yet endangered animals.
Last Sunday’s episode features a pride of lions in Kenya’s Masai Mara reserve.
According to the travel firm, the day after the show aired, the Kenya page on its website saw a 16 per cent increase in views compared to the same day the previous week.
Paul Hopkinson, marketing director at Travelbag, said it appears to show that the lion episode has inspired British holidaymakers to look into taking an African getaway.
“Sir David Attenborough has been inspiring viewers to take wildlife holidays for decades and last weekend’s lion episode was truly spectacular!
“It’s exciting to see the impact Dynasties has had on travellers in educating them on these species and inspiring them to see these incredible creatures first-hand in their natural habitat,” Mr Hopkinson said.
