Police name suspects wanted in connection to kidnap of Italian aid worker near Malindi

Kenyan police have named Adan Omar, Yusuf Kuno Adan and Said Adan Abdi as persons of interest in relation to Tuesday’s kidnapping of Italian aid worker Silvia Costanza Romano.

Police in Kenya have named three suspects in the kidnapping of Italian aid worker Silvia Costanza Romano offered a reward of one million shillings for information leading to their arrest.

The individuals the police are trying to locate in relation to Tuesday’s attack were named as Ibrahim Adan Omar, Yusuf Kuno Adan and Said Adan Abdi.

No-one has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of the 23-year-old volunteer for Africa Milele Onlus, an NGO operating in the area, but police have said they are optimistic the aid worker will be found “within the shortest time possible.”

Ms Romano was seized on Tuesday from a coastal community by gunmen who also wounded five people, including children.
