On Wednesday, UK High Commissioner Nic Hailey hosted a delegation of British farmers from the National Farmers Union (NFU) and Farm Africa to discuss support for agriculture development in Kenya.
NFU North East Regional Director Adam Bedford described the meeting with Mr Hailey as “excellent” with discussions covering farming, trade and politics.
Later, the delegation visited Daniel M’Mailutha and his team at the Kenya National Farmers’ Federation (KENAFF) who represent 2 million farmers across Kenya.
KENAFF is a non-political, non-profit making and democratic member-based umbrella organisation for all farmers in Kenya.
On Thursday, the delegation visited Farm Africa’s Growing Futures project in Kitale where they saw green beans which will be harvested today and be on sale in Aldi stores in the UK on Sunday.
The project gives young Kenyans the chance to build successful farming businesses.
