The Royal Engineer Support Team from the British Army Training Unit (Kenya) have been preparing the training area ahead of the next Exercise Askari Storm.

Back to back exercises mean the schedule for the work is tight but the Royal Engineers are working hard to ensure that 2 Para receive the best possible conditions to enable their success on the exercise.

A team of specialist plant operators deployed last weekend and will begin work immediately.

Meanwhile, back in Nanyuki, other members of the team are preparing the ground to assist the BATUK Infrastructure Development Project. This project is to build the infrastructure to domestic accommodation supporting permanent and semi-permanent staff in Laikipia Air Base (East).

On their Facebook page, BATUK said: “The machines and operators work around the clock to ensure that BATUK remains the centre of excellence that delivers world class light role training.”
