Najib Balala, Kenyan Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary, was among the speakers at the first International Tourism and Investment Conference which took place yesterday in London.

The focus of the conference was Africa and island economies with the event designed to serve as a global investment platform bringing together investors, private equity firms, bankers, law firms, technology experts alongside tourism ministers, industry leaders, policy-makers, sector specialists, CEOs of public and private sector institutions.

It was also aiming to unlock investment and business opportunities for global tourism through innovative projects with the launch event featuring a high-level panel discussion into opportunities for tourism and investment partnerships.

Along with Mr Balala, other speakers attending the event at the InterContinental Park Lane, in Mayfair include included Jamaican tourism minister Edmund Bartlett, former Jumeirah Group President and CEO Gerald Lawless and managing director of Pennyroyal Saleh Said.
