Pupils from Ndhiwa have received a generous donation of football kits from English Premier League club Arsenal as part of Team Kenya’s Brighter Futures Project.

This scheme, which the London club are supporting, is used to engage boys and girls in discussions about gender equality and to reduce violence towards girls in school.

Arsenal aren’t the only club supporting this initiative as England and Olympic Lyonnais footballer Lucy Bronze has donated two signed shirts for auction to raise funds for the UK based charity.

One of the shirts she has donated was worn during the Champions League which has the added significance of Lucy being the first England Women’s player to be part of a team who have won the competition and the shirt has the Champions League winners badge on the sleeve.

The second shirt was worn in the England v Wales World Cup qualifying match in April which ended goalless but left England’s chances open to claiming a  place in the World Cup finals.

To bid for either shirt, please visit the Team Kenya auction page.
