On Wednesday night, Deputy High Commissioner to Kenya, Susie Kitchens, took part in a “vibrant discussion” on impact investing with Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) East Africa, Nairobi Garage, Intellecap, Nairobi Innovation Week and iBizAfrica.

Impact investing refers to investments “made into companies, organizations, and funds with the intention to generate a measurable, beneficial social or environmental impact alongside a financial return. Impact investments provide capital to address social and/or environmental issues.

The discussions on Wednesday explored the challenges around raising visibility, attracting funds, connecting to global market, and getting the right people with both the required skills and aptitude to fit in with the company culture.
