The inaugural For Rangers Ultra Marathon, a partnership between For Rangers, Beyond the Ultimate and Save the Rhino International, is taking place this summer in Kenya.

Split into 5 stages, the 230km race will cross five wildlife conservancies –  from Lewa Wildlife Conservancy through the foothills of Mount Kenya to Borana and Ol Jogi Conservancies and the undulating plains of Ol Pejeta Conservancy on the Equator – each of which has its own characteristic terrain from verdant grasslands to forest; the playground of East Africa’s iconic wildlife.

For their own protection, the ultra-runners will encounter armed rangers at each 10-km checkpoint and water station, and at frequent intervals along the route, giving them the opportunity to meet and learn about the people who risk their lives to protect the world’s most endangered animals.

Overnight camps in the four conservancies, under star-filled skies with the sounds of nocturnal beasts, will allow competitors to experience life in the bush 24/7, just like the rangers they are supporting.

Entry costs £2,250 and for further details and to book your place on this incredible fundraising adventure please visit the Beyond the Ultimate website.
