7 venues to watch England’s World Cup games in Nairobi

England’s World Cup campaign kicks off this evening, and if you’re wanting to catch the action in Nairobi, we’ve pulled together 7 venues who will be showing the games live.

England’s first match in Russia is against Tunisia tonight (8 June) at 9pm, followed by Panama on 24 June at 3pm. Belgium are England’s final opponents in the group stage with the teams set to play on 28 June at 9pm. 

Purdy Arms

British expat couple Rob and Julie, are offering a special incentive for England fans to watch the national team’s games at their establishment in Nairobi. Every time England scores during the competition, the Purdy Arms will be serving a free Eloko Beer every time England scores in the competition.

Que Pasa

Boasting the biggest screen in Nairobi, Que Pasa at Karen Shopping Centre are showing all the World Cup matches. During the competition, they are offering a bucket of Carling for Ksh 2,000 with a pizza or burger thrown in for free.

During the final, a special menu will be created featuring dishes from the two contesting countries.

K1 KlubHouse

K1 KlubHouse‘s Soccer City made its debut during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, which on match days is overflowing with dedicated football fans which helps to really capture the excitement and atmosphere of the World Cup.

Igiza Lounge

Located within the Kenya National Theatre, the Igiza Lounge are showing all the World Cup matches on their big screen. You can reserve a table by messaging them via their Facebook page.

Tusker Lite Sky Bar

The Tusker Lite Sky Bar is located in the Ibis Styles Nairobi Westlands Hotel. This classic sports bar is designed for watching the latest game and enjoying sporting events with their massive 80-inch screen which will be the central focus of the pubs new arena-style set up. To add a bit of competitive spice, they will have a forecast box before every game in which patrons will make their match predictions which will offer the chance to win up to half price discounts on their menus or bills.

During the competition, they are offering Johnny Walker Black + 2 mixers+ Chicken Wings for KSH 7,000 and Smirnoff Vodka + 2 mixers+ Chicken Wings for KSH 4,800.

Attic Roof Top Bar

The Attic Roof Top Bar is located in the Park Inn Radisson Nairobi and guests can enjoy happy hour throughout the competition between 5pm and 7pm. During the World Cup, the Attic are also offering special burgers of each of the 32 participating World Cup countries and ordering one will get you a free Budweiser on the house.  They are also running a beer bucket deal where buying Budweiser beers will get you two extra for free.

Cloud 9

You will find Cloud 9 on the top of Clarence House on No. 8 School Lane in Westlands. Colourful hanging flags have been hung across the hallways and punters will be able to watch the World Cup games on their 65-inch screen and other wireless projectors stationed around the pub.
