Hull City manager Nigel Adkins has been speaking following his team’s victory over Kenyan champions Gor Mahia in a penalty shootout following a nil-nil draw.

After yesterday’s game, the visitors from the English Championship team were given an award for what shirt sponsor ‘SportPesa’ described as their ‘exceptional performance.’

Speaking at the reception, the Tigers’ manager said: “It was unbelievable to play in front of 65k+ football fans in Kenya. It has been a great trip, the experience was amazing. Thanks for the great hospitality”

First team coach Tony Pennock Tweeted his own post match reaction, saying: “Hard to describe today! Memories to last a lifetime. So privileged to be part of a fantastic experience. Really pleased that so many younger players are part of this trip. Well done to all at SportPesa for making it possible.”
