The latest classroom project by UK based Kenyan charity, African Promise, is well underway at Bungule Primary School where construction has begun on the first of two additional classrooms they are planning to build at the school this year.

These are needed to accommodate a growing roll of pupils brought about by the introduction of a popular boarding programme and are being funded in part by the funds that the charity raised in last year’s The Big Give Christmas Challenge.

With schools now closed for the holidays until the end of this month the charity have also resumed the upgrade of older parts of Kiteghe Primary School that pre-date the charity’s involvement, including the office and staffroom block and two large classroom blocks.

However, with only a three week window to undertake a significant amount of work, the workforce of nearly 40 builders and labourers on site are racing to get the work completed on time.
