On Friday, Kenyan Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma hosted visiting UK Special Represtative for Sudan and South Sudan Mr Chris Trott.
Mr Trott was joined in the meeting by the UK High Commissioner to Kenya, Nic Hailey.
The discussions entered around advancing the South Sudan peace process including the high-level revitalisation forum geared towards building peace between the warring factions.
Chris Trott was appointed UK Special Representative for Sudan and South Sudan in August 2016. Special representatives use their expertise to develop a greater coherent effort in making sure that the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) works closely and effectively with foreign powers.
As Special Representative for Sudan and South Sudan, Mr Trott supports international efforts to secure a durable and peaceful resolution to conflict between Sudan and South Sudan, as well as ending internal conflicts and encouraging sustainable development throughout both countries.
He is working alongside the joint FCO/DFID Sudan Unit and with the African Union and the United Nations, who jointly lead the international community’s efforts.
