Team Kenya names footballer Lucy Bronze as first ambassador

British based charity Team Kenya have named Lucy Bronze as their first ambassador.

The 26-year-old is an English footballer plays for French club Olympique Lyonnais Féminin and England, primarily as a right-back. However she can play anywhere in the defence or midfield.

In 2014, she won the PFA Women’s Players’ Player of the Year award and has previously played for Sunderland Women, Everton Ladies, Liverpool Ladies, and Manchester City Women as well as North Carolina Tar Heels at college level in the United States.

She has also represented England at all youth levels, and featured in their squads at Euro 2013 and the 2015 World Cup, helping them to third place at the latter tournament.

According to Team Kenya, Lucy is articularly interested in the charity’s Brighter Futures project which is using football to tackle violence against women and girls.
