British singer Emma Withill plays one of the budding divas dreaming of a great musical career and looking for an agent who would bring her right up to the top this Saturday in the comedy musical Rent-a-Diva.
Her rival is played by German coloratura soprano Doreen Ziegler, and in between their hilarious “cat fights”, the divas take us on a comedic journey accompanied by beautiful music, many surprises and tongue-in-cheek moments.
Emma graduated from the University of Durham with a music degree in 2004, and has performed as soloist around the UK at venues including Durham Cathedral, The Royal Albert Hall and Westminster Abbey.
In Kenya she is Director of Performing Arts at The Banda School, where she has produced The Lion King and Into The Woods.
She has also played the role of Killer Queen in We Will Rock You and air hostess Gloria in Boeing Boeing.
Rent-A-Diva will be staged this Saturday, 17th March 7pm at The Tribe Hotel in Gigiri (Village Market).
Early bird tickets for Ksh 5000 are available until Wednesday 17th March only and include welcome drink and canapé menu.
Tickets are also available on the door are available for Ksh 5500 with half price tickets available for children aged 14 and below.
