Former UK Department for International Development (DFID) Kenya Head, Ms Lisa Kathleen Phillips, was at Buckingham Palace on Thursday for her CBE investiture from Prince Charles.

She was awarded her CBE in last year’s Birthday Honours List for services to International Aid.

In January last year, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office announced that Lisa had been appointed as Governor of St Helena, and non-resident Governor of Ascension Island and Tristan da Cunha. She was replaced as Head of the DFID Kenya by Pete Vowles.

Joining Lisa at Buckingham Palace on Thursday was British singer Ed Sheeran who picked up his MBE for services to music and charity, saying he would be up for performing at the forthcoming royal wedding.

Ed was the most-streamed artist of 2017 and has supported various good causes.

The singer, who also had appeared in an episode of Game of Thrones, said he hadn’t been asked to perform at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. But asked by reporters whether he would do so if invited, he replied with a grin: “Yeah, why not.”
