Runner and African Children’s Fund supporter Andrew Smith is running in next month’s Oxford Half Marathon on behalf of the charity.

This will be Andrew’s fifth time running the event and he is aiming for a time of under 1hr 40mins.

The Oxford Half Marathon isn’t his first fundraising marathon for the charity this year. In April, he completed the London Marathon in under 4 hours, raising £1,407 in the process.

African Children’s Fund is a charity working to break down the barriers preventing African children leading happy and fulfilled lives.

If the continent is to prosper, Africa’s children need an education. These children yearn to learn and the charity works to help fulfil that yearning by lifting them and their communities out of poverty.

The problems can be awful, but the solutions are not rocket science. With the help of generous donations and the children’s courage, education, opportunities and hope for the future can be achieved.

For each £1 donated, 14 bowls of porridge can be provided to those in need. For each £5, a girl can have access to all that she needs to have a safe and valuable education.
