On Wednesday (23 August), the UK High Commissioner to Kenya Nic Hailey hosted a meeting with peace workers from Nairobi and beyond discussing how stakeholders could work together to heal divisions and help young Kenyans prosper following the recent general elections in the country.
Tweeting after the meeting, Kevin Osido thanked the High Commissioner for the “opportunity to share, pre, during and post election peace engagements.”
“Many such sessions, in counties as well, will help people open up and generate sustainable solutions,” he added in a subsequent post.

The High Commissioner has been very proactive during the election period along with other Heads of Mission in the country.
He joined the High Commission observer team on the morning of the elections, spoke at a prayer service on the eve of polling day and joined fellow diplomats in welcoming the opposition party’s decision to challenge the result peacefully in court rather than repeating the violence of ten years ago.
